ATLANTIC BEACH, NC -

An unlikely pair - a dog and a duck have been friends since they were a puppy and a duckling.

They do everything together - play, hang out at the pool, even eat grass. Occy the dog and Biggie the duck are absolutely inseparable.

Greenville, North Carolina NBC affiliate WITN recently caught up with the cute pals. The critters' owner Frances Marsh, says their friendship started three years ago. Back then, Marsh was afraid that Biggie would hurt Occy, but nothing bad happened. Occy learned to be very gentle with the duck when he grew up.

Biggie previously lived with other ducks in a creek behind Marsh's Atlantic Beach Surf. The adorable duo now play behind the shop. Customers and passers-by frequently take photos and videos of the pair. Marsh says the dog and the duck don't need supervision and can be trusted to play alone.

Marsh says Biggie doesn't even realize he is a duck.

"He won't even eat duck food, he eats the dog's food and drinks out of the dog's bowl," she told WITN, adding that Biggie is a member of the family.
