TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

A Hillsborough County deputy testified about pictures he took of Jasmine Bedwell following an argument between her and her former boyfriend, Richard McTear, after her baby was missing.

Following his arrest, McTear was quoted telling reporters, its a "dirty game."

The mother of his child told the court what that term means.

Re'Kale Hill said, "Everyone in the neighborhood used to say that, that's what we refer to as our neighborhood, we still say it to this day when riding in the area."

Jerry Bird, the first person who found the baby, testified about what he saw as he drove down I-275.

"I thought was a doll, I really didn't give it a lot of thought, but the more I started thinking about it I thought what if it wasn't a doll," he stated.

Bird returned to the scene, and shortly after a Hillsborough County deputy arrived to find the baby on the side of the road between the Fowler Avenue and Busch Boulevard exits.

Deputy Kevin Dennie said he checked for a pulse, but there wasn't any, and he also said the child was not breathing, but he went ahead and performed CPR. The child, Emmanuel Murray, was pronounced dead at the scene.

On cross examination, the defense tried to show there's no evidence that indicates McTear threw the baby onto the highway.

Deputy Dennie was asked if had any idea how the child ended up on the side of the road - he said he didn't.

If found guilty of first degree murder, McTear could possibly face the death penalty.
