NEW PORT RICHEY, FL (WFLA) - Remains discovered in a wooded area of New Port Richey on Friday have been tentatively identified as a 56-year-old Bay area man reported missing in May.

According to a Pasco County Sheriff’s Office report deputies were dispatched to a location on Massachusetts Ave. just after 3 p.m. in response to a call about some decayed human remains. No foul play is suspected.

Investigators say Cucchiara made threats on his life just prior to his disappearance. He told family members that he would rather end his life than return to jail on a probation violation.

The deceased’s troubles with law enforcement stem from three driving under the influence arrests.

The circumstances surrounding Cucchiara’s death is still under investigation as is the cause of death.
