PASCO COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

The judge in the Curtis Reeves second-degree murder case had hoped to set a trial date at a hearing Wednesday morning, however that did not happen.

Reeves is a former Tampa Police captain charged with shooting and killing Chad Oulson at a Pasco County movie theater in January. The shooting stemmed from an argument over texting.

In court Wednesday, Judge Pat Siracusa scheduled a pretrial hearing for September 10th, and another pretrial court date for October 14th. Both hearings are slated to take place at 10 a.m.

Judge Siracusa also asked the state and defense attorneys if they want the jury sequestered during the course of the trial. If that happens, Siracusa suggested working Saturdays, even Sundays, to minimize the time jurors spend away from their families.

In August, judges in the Pasco-Pinellas County circuit are given their assignments. If Siracusa stays in the criminal division, he will likely keep this case and preside over the trial. If the chief judge transfers him to a civil division, another judge could take the case.

It sounds like a wild fabrication: A spitting cobra, being prepared for a dish in a restaurant in southern China, bit and killed a chef 20 minutes after its head had been chopped off.

The may look fluffy and cute, but these caterpillars are anything but. Under all that fur on the puss caterpillar are venomous bristles that break off into the skin when touched by humans and cause serious pain.
