Deputies recover Hillsborough veteran's stolen motorcycle

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

It’s a 4th of July gift one disabled Iraq was veteran will not soon forget.

Someone stole Paul Rivera’s custom-built motorcycle, but Hillsborough detectives found it, and on Friday afternoon, they plan to return it to him.

On Thursday, a detective spotted someone riding the stolen bike, and followed them to a home on Six Mile Creek Road.

When backup arrived, deputies arrested Nathan Bowyer on charges ranging from grand theft to dealing in stolen property. Cindy Dormany was also arrested and charged with trafficking meth and possessing other drugs.

Deputies found pills, guns, and cash at the home, along with Rivera’s motorcycle.

Rivera served in Iraq and suffered an eye injury while on duty in Egypt.

He bought the Honda bike in 2011 and rebuilt it himself.
