A photo of a bikini-clad model that's gone viral might have you doing a double take. That's because the model is posing with her colostomy bags.

Bethany Townsend, 23, has suffered from Crohn's Disease since she was 3 years old. After many years of dealing with the disease, her bowel burst and she wound up having to use colostomy bags. Then, she decided to pose for a photo with the bags.

"Finally after three and a half years, I decided that my colostomy bags shouldn't control my life. So when I went to Mexico with my husband in December last year I finally showed I wasn't ashamed. Still hoping for a cure," Townsend wrote in a post that appears with her bikini photo on the Crohn's and Colitis UK Facebook page.

Townsend had sent the photo to the organization, which works to improve the lives of people suffering from Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

As of this writing, the Facebook post has received 222,729 likes and 17,909 shares.
