131 computers to be returned in 'Raleigh Geeks' probe

Posted: Updated:
RALEIGH, N.C. - The attorney general’s office said Friday that they had recovered more than 100 computers from three Raleigh Geeks locations.

Earlier this year, Attorney General Roy Cooper filed a lawsuit and requested court orders after consumers complained that Raleigh Geeks had misled them about repairs and failed to return repaired computers.

Cooper’s office said 131 computers were recovered and they plan to return the computers to their rightful owners.

According to Cooper's office, 45 consumers filed complaints against Raleigh Geeks, which goes by different names and also operated in Apex, Fuquay-Varina and Garner.

In May, Superior Court Judge G. Bryan Collins granted a preliminary injunction against two of the three defendants collectively known as "Raleigh Geeks" requiring all property to be returned to consumers within five days.

The computers are expected to be returned to their owners Friday.
