Raleigh police search for suspects in attempted car jacking

RALEIGH, N.C. -
Two teens have been arrested and police are searching for additional suspects in connection with a car jacking and an attempted car jacking.
Jonathan Sherod Surles, 16, and Kevon Terrell Hicks, 17 are charged with robbery, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with the two incidents. Hicks is additionally charged with speeding to elude officers.
Police say a driver reported that a suspect approached their vehicle as they were leaving a shopping center in the 6200 block of Rock Quarry Road around 9:10 p.m. on Wednesday. The driver said the suspect tried to enter their vehicle, but the driver drove away.
The intended victims said other individuals, who were believed to be additional suspects, were nearby at the time.
About 25 minutes later, officers were dispatched to the 5900 block of Brambleton Avenue, where a victim reported his car had been stolen by multiple suspects. The victim said at least one of the suspect was armed.
Shortly after the incident, officers spotted the stolen vehicle and began a pursuit, which turned into a foot pursuit after the occupants abandoned the vehicle. After the foot pursuit, officers arrested Surles and Hicks.
