A motorcyclist died Monday after he crashed into the side of an SUV on Glenwood Avenue at Edenburgh Road.
Police say Robert Bates, 57, of Raleigh, attempted to turn left from Edenburgh Road onto Glenwood Avenue around 1:12 p.m. when he crashed into an SUV driven by 59-year-old Andrea Meli.
According to the wreck report, Meli was traveling south on Glenwood Avenue when Bates crashed into the side Meli's vehicle. The report said Bates failed to yield before turning.
Bates was transported where he later died from his injures.
