People who use public bus service in some Tampa Bay counties will be able to ride for free on June 19.

The freebie is in recognition of "National Dump the Pump Day", which is a day that encourages people to ride public transportation instead of driving to save money.

Public transportation can be an economical way to beat high gas prices. It is estimated a two-person household can save, on the average, more than $9,900 a year by downsizing to one car, according to Pasco County Public Transportation.

We did some checking and the found out that these county bus services will be offering free rides on June 19. Be sure to check the rules for the free bus service, some agencies ask for a gas receipt.
