DURHAM, N.C. -

A car crashed into the Royalty Academy preschool in Durham Wednesday, busting through a brick wall on a day when, fortunately, no children were at the school.

Naquan Jones was driving a white 1990 Acura Legend at a high-rate of speed going south on Fayetteville Street

Jones went more than 400 feet and slammed into the school at 2919 Fayetteville Street.

No children were inside the building because it was closed for renovations.

Authorities estimated Jones was traveling more than 85 mph.

He was transported for minor injuries and faces careless and reckless driving charges.
