TRAFFIC: US 19 reopens near Nebraska Avenue after gas leak

PALM HARBOR, FL (WFLA) - Officials closed northbound US Highway 19 in Palm Harbor near Nebraska Avenue due to a gas leak early Monday morning, according to Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. East and westbound lanes on Nebraska reopened at about 6 a.m. after being closed for a few hours. US 19 reopened soon after that.

The PCSO deputies assisted with closing the intersection at about 4 a.m. Officials said the gas main near the Regions bank office was hit during scheduled construction work. Nearby McDonald's at 33817 US 19 was evacuated.
