St. Pete Police officer arrested on DUI charge

SEMINOLE, FL (WFLA) - An officer with the St. Petersburg Police Department is in trouble with the law following his arrest early Sunday on driving under the influence charges.

Jason B. Irvin was charged after deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on his vehicle at the intersection of 102nd Ave. North and Thurston Groves Blvd. in Seminole.

According to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office report the front passenger side headlight on Irvin’s vehicle was not working. When deputies made contact with the 43-year-old community service officer they noticed a distinct odor of alcohol.

A DUI investigation was conducted and Irvin was arrested. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail and released after posting bond.

Irvin has been employed by the St. Petersburg Police Department since 2001.
