TAMPA, FL (WFLA) - Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor was among more than 100 people who took a plunge for a good cause Saturday morning.

Castor jumped on a slide and made her way down into a pool filled with more than 2,000 gallons of gelatin. It was part of the Second Annual Caspers Company Gelatin Plunge that took place in the 300 block of Howard Avenue.

All money from the event goes toward support services at the Children's Cancer Center. The goal is to help Tampa Bay area children and families battling cancer or chronic blood disorders. Several other local celebrities also took the plunge for the Children’s Cancer Center.

Last year’s inaugural ‘Gelatin Plunge’ raised more than $42,000. Organizers are hoping for at least $55,000 this year.
