Two dead in Citrus County love triangle

INVERNESS, FL (WFLA) - The Citrus County Sheriff's Office says a man killed his ex's current boyfriend then shot himself on Monday night.

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at 1393 N. Reed Terrace in Inverness just before 7:30 p.m. Monday. The caller said the suspect, 52-year-old Michael Laramee, had fled the scene in his car. A deputy saw his vehicle near the scene, heading down Highway 41. A police chase ensued.

Laramee's vehicle continued to 2747 Venus Street, where they found Laramee dead with an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound.

The victim, 22-year-old Justin Harper, of 36 N. West Ave., was dating Laramee's ex-girlfriend, Jenifer Molfetta, deputies say. Harper was pronounced dead at the scene.

Molfetta and Laramee had a child together.

"Although the results are tragic, we are thankful that Laramee wasn't able to hurt anyone else due to the quick actions of our deputies," Undersheriff Buddy Grant said on scene. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by this senseless loss of life."

Crime scene technicians responded to both scenes. Autopsies will be performed by the Medical Examiner's office Tuesday.
