Whale sharks swim next to boaters off Anna Maria Island

On Sunday, Tracy Gardner and some friends went on a deep sea fishing trip and they spotted this whale shark about 45 miles west of Anna Maria Island.

Garden said the whale shark was at least 26 feet long. Later, the group saw three other whale sharks in the water, as well.

She tells News Channel 8 the sharks swam near them for about 30 minutes. They captured the sighting on video.
