TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

A Tampa Police detective fired last month after word surfaced that he is the target of a federal investigation wants his job back.

Eric Houston was fired from his job in April after police chief Jane Castor learned about the case against him, which she called “egregious.”

Details of the federal investigation still haven’t been revealed, but in a grievance filed this week, Houston denied committing any policy violation.

The grievance called discipline against Houston "arbitrary, capricious, excessive and not progressive in nature," according to the grievance.

The grievance also claims that Houston was never provided with any information about criminal charges against him before being terminated.

Houston is requesting to be reinstated and that he receive back pay and reimbursement for all lose accrued benefits.
