LAKELAND, FL (WFLA) - Two young boys who were pulled from a pool at a home in Lakeland on Friday afternoon have passed away.

Silas Lugo-Walsh, 18 months, was pronounced deceased just after 11 p.m. Saturday night. Jayvien Watkins, 2, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday according to a release issued by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Autopsies on the toddlers will be conducted in Hillsborough County later this week.

Deputies with PCSO were dispatched to 7108 Morning Dove Circle just after 6 p.m. Friday in response to a swimming pool accident call. The incident occurred at the home of the boys grandparents the report states.

Investigators say a family member found the boys face down in the pool and immediately called 9-1-1. Silas and Jayvien were unresponsive when emergency service personnel arrived at the residence. They were transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

“This is a nightmare of monumental proportions,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd during a news conference Friday night. “The back door was closed but it doesn’t latch. Once on the back porch, the gate was not intact so the children had free access to walk directly into the swimming pool.”

No charges have been filed in the case as the investigation continues.

Neighbors told News Channel 8 the family has only been living in the home for a few months.

Judd: “It appears to be nothing more than a tragic, tragic accident.”

It sounds like a wild fabrication: A spitting cobra, being prepared for a dish in a restaurant in southern China, bit and killed a chef 20 minutes after its head had been chopped off.

The may look fluffy and cute, but these caterpillars are anything but. Under all that fur on the puss caterpillar are venomous bristles that break off into the skin when touched by humans and cause serious pain.
