SPRING HILL, FL (WFLA) - Vendors and service organizations from West Central Florida participated in the Hernando County Sheriff's Office's annual All-Hazard Preparedness Expo in Spring Hill Saturday.

The event, sponsored by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office Emergency Management Section, was held at the Nature Technical High School at 4507 California St. It was a family-fun, educational expo aimed to provide residents with information and tips on how to prepare for emergency situations.

Storm Team 8 Chief Meteorologist Steve Jerve was this year's featured speaker.  He talked about the upcoming hurricane season before a question and answer session.

There were several planned activities, including emergency vehicle displays, hurricane simulator and a fire safety smokehouse.
