PINELLAS PARK, FL (WFLA) - An 80-year-old Pinellas Park woman has been charged with ten counts of animal abandonment after police discovered emaciated dogs and cats on the property.

Pinellas Park Police responded to the home at 6261 102nd Terrace North on Friday afternoon for reports of malnourished animals.

So far, Pinellas County Animal Control has removed six cats and three dogs who appear to be malnourished due to their weight and overall appearance.

The animals' owner, Edna Carr, has been arrested for allegedly neglecting the animals, by not providing sufficient food, water or exercise to the animals.

There are more animals still in the home that animal control believes are in the walls or the ceiling.

According to police it is also believed that there may be animals buried in the backyard of the home.

The animals in the home were surrendered to Animal Control as the investigation continues.
