TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

At Tampa's Reproductive Medicine Group doctors use cutting edge advancements to help women become pregnant. But even with the best medical intervention science shows - stress can get in the way.

"It's all interconnected - we cannot separate the mind from the body," said Dr. Sandy Goodman of the Reproductive Medicine Group.

As part of a mind-body program developed out of Harvard University, Dr. Sandy Goodman recommends her patients take fertility yoga. The class called Flow is offered by a nurse and certified fertility yoga instructor Sherry Longbottom.

"It stimulates and increases blood flow to their uterus and pelvic organs," she said about the moves.

The class caters to women trying to become pregnant. Women never hold a position for too long, go into a deep twist or try intense stances. Longbottom keeps the class size small and says they are typically very successful including her last class.

"It was a group of five and out of those five four are pregnant some have their babies at home," Longbottom said.
