Children ages 6, 8, hit by SUV in Plant City

The Plant City Police Department's Traffic Management Unit is investigating a crash involving two pedestrians who were struck by an SUV Friday morning around 7:25 a.m.

The two children were walking eastbound along Victoria Street when they were struck by the SUV which was travailing in the same direction.

The two children, who are ages 6 and 8, were walking to Wilson Elementary school after missing the school bus.

The eight-year-old child was transported by Plant City Fire Rescue to Tampa General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The six-year-old was flown to Tampa General with serious injuries.

Traffic Investigators continue to investigate the crash but no citations are expected for the driver of the SUV.
