LAKELAND, FL (WFLA) -

Twenty-seven additional law enforcement officers are at Sleepy Hill Middle School in Lakeland Thursday as part of a reaction plan to a note left in the school office Wednesday.

In the note, an unknown person said they would bring a gun to school Thursday and kill themselves.

"Be prepared," it said.

Each staff member and student was "wanded" by an officer as they entered the school. A K-9 officer was also on the grounds.

Parents were notified Wednesday of the situation and alerted their children would be searched. No weapons were found as of mid-morning Thursday.
