LAKE WALES, FL (WFLA) -

Detectives in Lake Wales believe the same person was responsible for two burglaries and an attempted sexual battery.

On May 5, police say the suspect came into a woman’s home on Emerald Avenue through an unlocked door. He was armed with a kitchen knife. The 68-year-old victim says the man exposed himself and demanded she perform a sex act.

Investigators say she refused, and screamed, and the suspect ran.

On May 2, police believe the same man got into a 73-year-old woman’s home on South 4th Street, also through an unlocked door. That woman claims she woke up to find the suspect straddling her. She also screamed, and the man ran away without making any demands.

Anyone with information about either of these cases is asked to call Detective Bill Raebig at (863) 678-4223 extension 264 or Heartland Crime Stoppers at (800) 226-8477.
