17-year-old skateboarder dies from injuries in Bradenton crash

BRADENTON, FL (WFLA) -

Bradenton Police are investigating a crash that killed a teenage skateboarder.

Detectives say at about 9:32 p.m. on Sunday, a 17-year-old boy was skateboarding through the intersection of Manatee Avenue and Palma Sola Boulevard when he crossed into the path of vehicle traveling eastbound in the same intersection.

The driver of the vehicle, whose identity was not released, told investigators he did not see the boy until it was too late to stop.

The teen was transported to Blake Medical Center where he was in critical, but unresponsive condition. He died Monday.
