TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -
Attorneys were hoping to start Julie Schenecker's murder trial on Thursday, but the Tampa mother accused of killing her two children will have to wait at least another day.
Jury selection continued for the third day Thursday. The state still has a jury pool of 80 potential jurors to narrow down. From that, 12 plus alternates will be chosen.
Thursday, jurors were being asked about their beliefs involving the insanity defense and issues of mental health in the case.
Jury selection will continue Friday morning.
Schenecker, 53, is on trial for the alleged murders of her two children in January 2011. Schenecker reportedly told police she killed her 13-year-old son Beau and 16-year-old daughter Calyx because they were "mouthy." She's pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder by reason of insanity.
