PLANT CITY, FL (WFLA) -

Plant City Police Officers have arrested a man suspected of shooting and killing a man outside a convenience store on Wednesday.

Ha'keem Alagawan Cook, 22, of Plant City was killed in the 500 block of South Maryland Avenue in Plant City.

Investigators say multiple witnesses had identified Master Brown as the shooter.

Officers had been looking for Brown and spotted his vehicle at about 3 a.m. Thursday in south Plant City. Detectives tried to conduct a traffic stop, but Brown refused to stop his car.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputies were also searching for him and were notified by Plant City Police that they spotted him.

Deputies tried to stop Brown and ended up pursuing him when he did not stop his car.

Brown crashed his vehicle into a gate in north Plant City.

Police say he and two other people in the car ran off. Polk County deputies later caught Brown and Stefan Jackson, who was one of the people in the car with Brown.

A second degree murder warrant had been issued for Brown and a homicide warrant had been issued for Jackson. Both men are being held at the Polk County Jail until their transfer to the Hillsborough County Jail.

The Plant City Police Department did not release information about Jackson's alleged role in the killing.
