TARPON SPRINGS, FL (WFLA) - A man was injured Saturday night when he lost control of a pickup truck and ended up in a pond on Keystone Road.

The driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed west on Keystone Road shortly after 7:30 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle in a bend in the road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The truck went airborne and flipped twice before it came to rest partially submerged in the pond.

Pinellas County firefighters had to cut away the roof of the truck to free the driver, who was alone in the vehicle, officials said.

The driver, whose identity was not released, was taken to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.
