No doubt, dining out is a popular pastime here in Tampa Bay. We're here to keep you informed. Here's this week's "dish" about what's happening at Tampa Bay restaurants.

Kids might not be looking forward to upcoming FCAT tests, but McDonald’s restaurants are hoping to make sure they don’t take tests on an empty tummy.

On April 22, the fast food chain will be offering a free breakfast of an Egg McMuffin and apple slices with OJ or milk. The deal is valid at McDonald’s restaurants in Florida from 6 to 9 a.m. while supplies last. Kids under 15 must be accompanied by a parent. Teachers can get a free breakfast, too. They just need to present a valid Florida Teacher’s I.D. Last year, McDonald’s served more than 23,000 Tampa Bay students and teachers on exam day.

Many customers of Yianni’s Prime Choice steakhouse in Sebring were disappointed to find out the restaurant recently closed. The restaurant made the announcement on its Facebook page and received more than 70 comments about the closure.

“The owners and staff at Yianni's announce with a heavy heart, that we have closed our doors for business. The news came to us as unexpectedly as we deliver it to you. We thank you for the last eight and a half years. You made it what it was. It was our pleasure and our honor to serve you,” the owners posted on April 11.

Ferg's is coming to Tampa. If you’ve ever been to a Tampa Bay Rays game, you may have stopped at Ferg’s Sports Bar & Grill before or after the game. The popular restaurant is within walking distance of the Trop.

Later this year Ferg’s fans will be able to stop by a new location across the street from the Tampa Bay Times Forum. The restaurant is scheduled to open in August, but they decided to celebrate the Tampa Lightning’s playoff games with big parties at the new location. Learn more.
