Parents and school bus drivers have sounded off in a series of town hall meetings about transportation in the Hillsborough County School District.There will be another meeting Monday night.
School Board Member April Griffin is hosting it.It follows a memo from employees suggesting the district has not resolved issues that came to light after a special-needs student died on a bus in 2012. The Office of Professional Standards is investigating the claims.
This is happening at a time when the School Board is deciding whether to replace the district's aging bus fleet.Employees have also raised concerns about safety, pay, and reliability.
Monday’s town hall meeting is at the Covington Park Club House at 6806 Covington Garden Drive in Apollo Beach.This discussion about school transportation is from 6 to 8 p.m.
