39th annual Mainsail Arts Festival in St. Petersburg

The Mainsail Art Festival's 39th anniversary show is set for April 19 and 20, on St. Petersburg’s downtown waterfront in beautiful Vinoy Park, Bayshore Drive and Seventh Ave. NE. Complementing the visual arts is an afternoon of music both days on stage in the South end of Vinoy Park, overlooking the Vinoy Resort marina:


Noon-1:15 p.m. Impulse

World music blend, reggae, Latin, Creole, and zouk

1:30-2:45 p.m. Ari and the Alibis

Funk, blues and soul

3-4:15 p.m. Applebutter Express

Funky ukulele, fiddle, upright bass

4:30-6 p.m. Tampa Collective

New music rooted in blues & rock

SUNDAY, APRIL 20, 2014

1-2 p.m. Shaun Hopper

Finger-style acoustic guitar infused with percussion

2:15-3:30 p.m. Come Back Alice

High energy Southern gypsy funk

3:45-5 p.m. TC Carr and the Bolts of Blue with Josh Nelms

Rockin' blues and soul

Enjoy Strolling entertainment Saturday and Sunday featuring Deanna The Mime, George Aldrich The Minstrel and Magician Al Miller.


Admission is free. The Mainsail Art Show is open Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Volunteers can still sign up to staff the soft drink/water booths, promotions/t-shirt sales, hospitality/information tent or beer/wine trucks (must be 21 years & older, limited to one shift per day). All volunteers will receive a free T-shirt. Volunteers are asked to use the online Registration Form, www.mainsailart.org, to select a location, day and time where openings are available. One of the most exciting outdoor arts events in Florida, this prestigious art festival attracts over 270 artists from throughout the country. Mainsail is a two-day event that combines visual and performing arts along with a Young at ARt student show, Young Masters Awards, a culinary arts food court, Mainsail souvenirs, and opportunities for children to actively engage in art activities.
