MELBOURNE, FL (WFLA) -

The next Exotic Pet Amnesty Day is at a Melbourne park this Saturday at 10 a.m., Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials said.

This event at the Wickman Park Pavilion at 3845 N. Wickman Road is sponsored by the Melbourne Wildlife Club of the Eastern Florida State College.

Any and all exotic pets including mammals, reptiles and amphibians can be surrendered no questions asked. Qualified adopters will take the pets home the same day.

You can come over even if you don't have a pet to surrender and don't want to adopt one - the organizers will have special informational and educational displays and you can see the animals up close and personal. The event staff will tell about the dangers of the nonnative and invasive species.

The event is free to attend and will last until 2 p.m. You can find more information about this event here.
