Head to Clearwater during the 10 day Sugar Sand Festival to see why it was named the best beach town in Florida.
The Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival celebrates Clearwater's white sugar sand, from April 4th to 13th.
The theme of the second annual festival is "Beach Walk of Fame" featuring iconic movies. In addition to iconic movie characters and scene sculpted in the Sugar Sand Walk Exhibit, the festival will have a professional sand sculpting competition, sand sculpting clinics, speed sand demonstrations, fireworks, sand box play area, and on Sunday, April 13th a Beach Egg Hunt.
New to the festival this year will be The Frenchy’s Sand Bar, where beer and wine will be available for sale daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
During the 10 festival nights, the Sunset Cinema will play classic movies that everyone loves, such as Back to the Future, Jaws, and Harry Potter.
The festival is held just south of Clearwater Beach's Pier 60.
Admission will be $8 for adults, $4 for students 6 to 17-years old, and $5 for seniors (55 & up), military, police and firefighters. Children 5 & under are free when accompanied by a paying adult. This year’s ticket cost will include entrance into the Sugar Sand Walk Exhibit and a commemorative 8-by-10 inch souvenir photo for each guest.
