11-year-old boy dies saving sister in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Investigators say an 11-year-old boy has died trying to save his 7-year-old sister after she was swept into a Charlotte creek.
    
Authorities say the sister survived, but is in critical condition.
    
Family members said Randez Brown and his sister Shamiyah joined a group of children on a concrete culvert where the creek empties into a pond.
    
Authorities say the girl slipped and was swept away. Her brother jumped in to try and save her, but was also pulled under.
    
Rescuers found the children minutes later, but the boy could not be revived.
