Lawyer: trouble deepening for Pinellas massage therapist arrested for molesting female clients

36-year-old Ronald Bruinius, a licensed massage therapist charged with sexually battering two women on his massage table in Seminole last year, has a lot to worry about as he awaits trial in the Pinellas County jail.

Now Bruinius' lawyer Nina Hayden says he may soon have even more trouble on his hands.

8 On Your Side has obtained an "on the record" audio recording of a whispered bench conference in which Hayden tells a judge she believes there are four additional cases against Bruinius under active investigation.

"You're looking at a whole lot of time here, "Hayden told the judge. "I need to try to wrap my arms around it."

Tonight at six, in an 8 On Your Side investigation, one of Bruinius' massage victims speaks out publicly for the first time and weighs on why she believes Bruinius deserves punishment for what he did to her while practicing his state-licensed profession.

We'll also tell you how state lawmakers are now responding to our 8 On Your Side investigation that revealed eight registered sex offenders obtained and kept state massage licenses despite their criminal records--in one case even even after the therapist pleaded guilty for molesting a female client on his table.

If you've ever had a therapeutic massage in Florida, or expect to in the future--you won't want to miss this report, tonight at six on News Channel 8.
