TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

Investigators believe that a fire that damaged a home in southern Hillsborough County Sunday evening was the work of an arsonist.

Firefighters say they found suspicious items in another home on property.

HCFR crews responded to the fire at 6512 36th St. South after the neighbors called about the flames and smoke they saw coming from the house. It took the crews about 20 minutes to extinguish the fire, according to the HCFR report.

The home was not occupied, firefighters said. They reported no injuries from the fire. Fire investigators found some suspicious items at another home on the same property. Fire officials didn't reveal what they have found.

They continue to investigate both the fire and the findings. Stay with WFLA.com for more on this developing story.
