According to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report Carter and her husband got into a verbal argument just after 9 p.m. at a residence in the 900 block of 60th Ave. Terrace West. During the argument Domonique A. Portee, the victim, threw the phone onto the floor.

Carter became enraged, picked up a pocket knife and slashed Portee’s wrist. The 23-year-old victim suffered a gash that did not require medical attention.

Deputies were dispatched to the home and Carter was arrested without incident. The knife was recovered and placed into evidence.
