RALEIGH, N.C. -

Charges against a woman involved in founding a local preschool have been dropped, according to Wake County records.

In March, police said a Raleigh couple that founded a local preschool is facing felony drug charges after they used their home to keep and sell marijuana.

A Raleigh Police K9 discovered a package scheduled for delivery to Kristen and Larrin Marrisett's home during a routine sweep of a FedEx facility in Raleigh on Atlantic Avenue. The charges against Kristen Marrisett were dropped April 29, records show. A Wake County court official said charges against Larrin Marrisett have also been dropped.

Police say officers then got a search warrant to search the package once it arrived at their home. Inside they found marijuana, marijuana cookie and cannabis candy.

Police say the couple was also keeping and selling the drugs at their house. They were charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana and maintaining a place for drugs.

Kristen and Larrin Marrisett were listed as the founders ofthe Wake Forest Montessori Preschool on the school's website.

An employee at the school declined to comment.

The package of drugs came from Colorado, where marijuana is legal. While Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison said he has not seen a spikeof marijuana coming to North Carolina from states where it's legal, he suspectsit could happen – much like fireworks.
