It's that time of year when you may notice less people in your gym. With New Year's fitness resolutions losing steam, there is a unique way to keep you exercising that's never boring.

Nestled along Dale Mabry Highway south of Fletcher Avenue is an almost hidden outdoor obstacle course. At Nature's Boot Camp participants can receive a full body workout without ever having to lift a dumbbell. Owner Robert Radney says trainers are there to help participants with using their own body weight to gain strength.

As reporter Leslee Lacey experienced, beginners will need assistance on some obstacles, but it's possible to complete the entire course. Radney also says shedding pounds comes naturally because the obstacles are designed for building endurance and strengthening your core muscles.

Boot Camp regular Halli Matas prefers using the outdoor facility versus a traditional indoor gym. Matas says she has lost weight, dropped dress sizes, and notes it's the best upper body work out she has ever experienced. At 49 years old Matas feels stronger than ever.

Nature's Boot Camp also trains people for mud runs and professional obstacle courses. Radney has recently auditioned for the NBC TV show American Ninja Warrior. The course can be used for corporate team-building events, birthday parties and to anyone who wants to use it as a regular gym or simply wants to change up their work out routine. Radney adds that military and first responders will receive discounts on admission.
