VALRICO, FL (WFLA) - Hillsborough deputies released new details Wednesday in the murder case of a Valrico mother. They identified the suspect they arrested in connection with this homicide and stated the woman's cause of death.

According to the HCSO report, the suspect's name is Michael Jason Fields, 32. Fields said he was a boyfriend of Christina Mahzamani, 32, a mother of three, who was reported missing Monday and found dead Tuesday.

Mahzamani's body was found near the house where Fields stayed. Fields called the deputies himself Tuesday afternoon and told them about a female body on the ground between his residence at 2707 St. Clouds Oak Drive and the house next door in Valrico.

When deputies identified the body as Mahzamani, they searched the area and Fields' room in the house. They found drag marks on the ground in the backyard, blood and a partial shoe print. They also recovered a bloody pair of pajama bottoms in Fields' bedroom. Fields was staying in the house with its owners.

Detectives interviewed the man and he told them, Mahzamani came to see him on Sunday but only stayed for a few minutes. She drove away in her 2013 Buick Enclave around 11 p.m. and he didn't see her after that, he told deputies according to the HCSO report.

The Buick was found the next day. It was blocking a driveway about half a mile from the body location, at 511 Briar Meadows Drive in Valrico. Neighbors told deputies the car was first spotted there around 3 a.m. Monday.

Later that same Monday HCSO deputies took a missing persons report from Vali Mahzamani, the victim's relative, who said she was last seen Sunday evening.

On Tuesday after the body discovery and the search in Fields' room, detectives arrested Fields on a charge of second-degree murder with a weapon.

Tuesday evening after performing an autopsy on Christina Mahzamani's body the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office listed the cause of death as bludgeoning of her head and the manner of death homicide.

Detectives continue to investigate the case. They said it's unclear why Fields lived with the owners of 2707 St. Cloud Oaks Drive.

Authorities will not be releasing Fields' 911 call at this time.
