TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -
Neighbors flagged down Tampa Police officers Wednesday morning when they couldn't stop a man from allegedly having sex with a large pit bull on his back yard, according to a TPD report.
When officers responded to 8125 N. Marks Street they were greeted by a crowd of people who lived nearby. Police say neighbors were concerned about the man who lived there, Bernard Marsonek, 58. They told police Marsonek was having sex with the large dog in the backyard and allegedly wouldn't stop when they yelled at him.
Officers interviewed Marsonek, who is a convicted felon, in the house. Police say they also found and seized a firearm with ammunition. There were eight large pit bulls on the property. Hillsborough County Animal Services took custody of the dogs.
Police arrested Marsonek on two counts of firearm possession by a felon, animal cruelty and sexual activity involving animals. Detectives continue to investigate.
