1 man dead in overnight single-car crash in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -
One person is dead after running off the road and crashing into a tree just after 1 a.m. Wednesday morning in Fayetteville, according to authorities.
Fayetteville police responded to the 2700 block of Ramsey Street in reference to a single-car accident. Police believe the 2012 Chrysler driven by Terrance Murray Smith, 43, was traveling on Ramsey Street when it veered off the road before slamming into a tree.
Smith was the only person in the car and was deceased on scene.
Traffic was completely blocked in both directions on Ramsey Street from Eastwood Avenue to Circle Court, but both lanes of Ramsey Street are now back open.
