PASCO COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

The Pasco Sheriff's Office shared some sad news on their Facebook page Monday.

A K-9 bloodhound, Copper, passed away on Monday after eight years with the agency.

According to the Facebook post, "Copper was donated to our agency through the Jimmy Rice Center for Victims of Predatory Abduction."

The post went on to say: "Our K-9s give their all to keep our deputies safe and ensure that suspects are located, illegal substances are identified, and missing persons are found. They are valued members of our agency. We appreciate Copper’s service."

Copper was nine years old.
