Teen shot following disturbance at bowling alley

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) - Detectives with the Tampa Police Department are investigating the shooting of a teenage boy in a parking lot.

According to a TPD report the incident occurred just before 11 p.m. just south of the Pin Chasers location in the 4800 block of Armenia Ave. The 14-year-old victim suffered a cut on his left collarbone that required stitches.

The wound is not considered life threatening.

Investigators say officers were dispatched the establishment one hour before the shooting in response to a disturbance that led to a group of individuals being escorted from the property. TPD assisted in dispersing the folks involved.

A witness stated the shooter may have been in a small, black four-door vehicle that was observed driving slowly on Armenia before the shot was fired. The car was last seen traveling north away from the crime scene.

So far no suspect has been identified by preliminary information indicates the shooting was not a random act of violence but the result of a fight between two groups of individuals. The victim, who was not identified, was uncooperative.

The investigation continues.
