Walmart plans to hire 300 for new Lutz store

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

Walmart plans to hire about 300 associates for a new store set to open in Lutz this summer.

The national discount chain has opened a temporary hiring center at 15402 N. Nebraska Ave. to fill full-time and part-time positions. Job applications are being accepted there from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays.

“I look forward to meeting potential associates who would like to build careers with Walmart,” store manager Arnetta Hill said.

Citing a commitment to veterans, Walmart seeks to hire qualified former military personnel who were honorably discharged from service within the past year, according to a company news release.

Most of the new associates will begin work in April to help prepare the store for its grand opening.

Full-time and part-time workers will be offered a benefits package and a stock purchase program.

Job seekers also may apply online at http://careers.walmart.com. Interested veterans may find out more at http://walmartcareerswithamission.com/.
