Brandon middle school evacuated due to natural gas leak

BRANDON FL (WFLA) - An evacuation is in progress at McLane Middle School in Brandon due to a natural gas leak in Building 600.

Hillsborough County Fire officials say more than 130 students are being removed from the building, located on on North Knights Avenue, and being moved to a different building while Hazmat units investigate the situation. Officials say TECO is also on the scene to assist.

Everyone is safe and there are no reports of illness or injuries.
