DURHAM, N.C. -

A dorm room was destroyed and three others were damaged in an accidental fire at a Duke University residence hall Thursday.

Firefighters were dispatched the Brown Residence Hall, located at 1328 Campus Drive, around 7:39 p.m. Thursday.

When they arrived, firefighters found a room on fire and heavy smoke on the third floor.

The dormitory was completely evacuated and the fire was contained within 15 minutes.

The room and its contents were destroyed, and three other rooms received smoke damage that made them unusable, Durham's deputy fire chief said.

No one was injured and the displaced residents will be moved to other accommodations on campus.

Officials said Friday the fire was accidental and electrical in nature.
