Police: Man stole over $1,600 of champagne from Publix

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) - The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who allegedly stole six bottles of champagne from Publix worth over $1,600.

They say the unidentified suspect entered the Publix on Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa on February 11th around 6:44 p.m. and was able to defeat the lock device on the wine display.

He allegedly stole two bottles of Roederer Cristal, two bottles of Armand De Brignac and two bottles of Perrier Jouet Belle. He then picked up a pack of toilet paper, three reusable shopping bags and exited the store without paying.

The suspect is described as black male, 30-49 years, 5'11" - 6'2", 250 lbs., black hair with long braided dreadlocks, brown eyes, with a tattoo on right upper arm. He was last seen wearing a black tank top, black starter basketball shorts, and black and white thong sandals.

Anyone with any information reference the suspect is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200 or anyone with any information regarding the identity and whereabouts of this suspect and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), report anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com or text "CSTB plus your tip" to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637).
