Verona man identified as victim of mobile home park fire

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - A Verona man is dead after a fire in Holly Ridge.

Deputies say Christopher Lee Miller of Verona died of smoke inhalation.

The Onslow County Fire Marshal Brian Kelly tells 9 O Your Side the fire happened on Kenney's Avenue at Dixon Estates, a mobile home park. When their crews arrived on the scene, the kitchen area of the mobile home was fully engulfed.

A female and child, who escaped the fire and went to a neighbor's home to call 911, were treated and released at the hospital.

It took about 30 minutes to put the fire out. It too another 30 to overhaul the structure, looking for hot spots. The home is a total loss.
