Mount Rushmore replica freezes presidents’ likenesses in snow

MINNESOTA - The state of Minnesota now has a unique snow sculpture with a truly American flair; it’s a Mount Rushmore of snow.

In honor of Presidents' Day Monday, an artist was moved to create a replica of the national monument located in neighboring South Dakota.

Instead of having the likenesses of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln frozen in rock, this sculpture has them frozen, literally, in snow.

This sculpture is definitely a limited edition as temperatures in the area are expected to rise Tuesday.

A senior Hamas leader says the group signed a pledge to back any Palestinian bid to join the International Criminal Court. Such a step could expose Israel - as well as Hamas - to war crimes investigations.
Egypt on Saturday called for an open-ended cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, urging Israel and Hamas to return to indirect talks after seven weeks of fighting punctuated by a number of failed truce attempts.
